Langford, British Columbia- The NSRA Winged Sprintcar Series made the journey to Western Speedway on Vancouver Island.  The Langford, British Columbia facility hosted the historic Daffodil Cup, presented by P&R Truck Centre, on Friday, August 17th, and Saturday, the 18th.  Around twenty cars from both the nations of Canada and the United States would be represented.

Langford pilot Jeff Montgomery scored the victory on night one for his first win of the 2018 with the NSRA series.  Mainlanders Ron Larson, of Quesnel, was the runner-up and Langley’s Aaron Willison, in the Rod and Gord Rendle entry, finished third.  The rest of the top five consisted of Kyle Vantright, from Langley, in fourth over the fifth finishing American Cameron Neisinger, based out of Everett, Washington.

Jeff Montgomery doubled up on the weekend by grabbing the win on Saturday night.  American chauffeur Andy Alberding, from Roseburg, Oregon, got second while Victoria veteran Duane Zeinstra was third.  Aaron Willison ended his weekend fourth with Kyle Vantreight rounding up the top five, in fifth.

At the end of Saturday with all of the points tabulated Jeff Montgomery was crowned the 2018 P&R Truck Centre Daffodil Cup champion.  It marked the fifth occasion he has managed to accomplish such a feat and is now tied with Scott Aumen on the all-time list.

The NSRA Winged Sprintcar Series is gearing up for their final weekend of competition on the 2018 calendar.  The series returns to Meridian Speedway on September 21st and 22nd with both nights being sanctioned by the King Of The West Sprintcar Series. At the end of the final night the NSRA champion will officially be crowned.

In other news the NSRA Winged Sprintcar Series would like to let their wonderful fans and race teams know about an additional upcoming event.  Despite not being sanctioned by NSRA the Salt City 100 will be the unfortunate final kiss goodnight to the Rocky Mountain Raceway as it is set to close at the end of this year.  Be sure and stay up to date with the NSRA Sprint Series by visiting the series website at www.nsraracing.com.
