Canada’s Aaron Willison Ready For Oregon Debut With Royal Purple NSRA Winged Sprintcars

By Ben Deatherage

Langley, British Columbia- Saturday, May 20th will see the 2017 debut of the Royal Purple NSRA Winged Sprintcars at Roseburg, Oregon’s Douglas County Speedway.  Among the many entries planning to make the trip is Langley, British Columbia native Aaron Willison.  Willison will be behind the wheel of his Serious Performance Race Engines/Kick Cookies Horse Treats/Valliant Sign Painting #41 Stealth. He was the runner-up in this event last year.

“I’ve never even seen the place before but judging by the pictures it looks like a nice facility and should be a lot of fun,” commented Willison, “we’ve never really been able to run the whole season with series and that is one of our biggest goals.  I’d love to end the year in the top five in points.”

Aaron is a second-generation driver following in the footsteps of his father Dave who drove for well over thirty years.  The younger Willison has managed to obtain a lot of success throughout the years including two Midget championships at Agassiz Speedway.  He also spent lots of time in both paved Late Models and Mini Stocks.  It would be in the Mini Stocks where he won the first ever race on the 5/8-mile configuration at Monroe, Washington’s Evergreen Speedway as well as the 2011 Mini Stock Nationals in Spokane.

Douglas County Speedway will host a practice on Friday, May 19th from 3:00 PM to Dusk.  For Saturday Pit Gates open at Noon, Front Gates 4:00 PM, Qualifying is expected to get started around 4:30, and Racing begins at 5:41.  For more information log on to www.douglascountyspeedway.com.
