Monroe, Washington- The Royal Purple NSRA Sprints would take on the Royal Purple King of the Wing National Sprint Series on Saturday, July 23rd at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington. The event was the famed Rory Price Memorial and paid $10,000.00 to the evening’s winner. Over thirty Sprint Cars from all over North America were in attendance.

In the main event, Roseburg’s Matt Hein showed the way early but would be passed on the tenth lap by Trevor Montgomery. Montgomery, of Langford, British Columbia, would blaze the trail for quite some time. It looked like Montgomery was on his way to winning it but unfortunately, he and Hein got together on the final lap. Hein would keep his mount in motion and went on to capture his third victory with the NSRA Series in 2016, second career win with the Royal Purple King of the Wing National Sprint Series, and seventh Rory Price Memorial triumph.

Chowchilla, California’s Eric Humphries was second followed by Davey Hamilton Jr., of Boise, Idaho, in third. The balance of the top five finishing order consisted of Winston, Oregon’s Andy Alberding, in fourth, and fifth place Bryan Warf of Meridian, Idaho.

Eric Humphries was the fastest qualifiers in time trials. Heat race winners were Tristen Spiers of Adrian, Oregon, Robbie Price from Cobble Hill, British Columbia (in the Rod Rendle machine), Palm Springs, California pilot Robert Stout, and Middleton, Idaho’s Sierra Jackson. Ron Larson, out of Quesnel, British Columbia, was the victor in the consolation feature and eventually finish seventh in the main event.
